Doctoral Regalia
The University of California Doctoral gown is constructed of Sandweave fabric in navy. The gown features royal blue velvet panels and chevrons. The outer edges are outlined with gold soutache braid. The top and bottom of each chevron are edged with the same braid. The hood is constructed of Sandweave in black with degree color velvet. The cap is either a navy Sandweave mortarboard cap with a gold bullion tassel or a navy blue tam with gold bullion tassel.
